Will a lazy eye be a detriment to passing the Class 3 flight physical so that I can become a flight medic?

I looked into the regs but i'm still concerned about one problem of mine. I have a lazy eye that occurs when I look all the way to the left. I can look left for the most part, but if I look entirely left, my vision doubles. Will this be a detriment to passing the physical so that I can become a flight medic?

It’s almost impossible to say for sure; there are guidelines in the APL, but each waiver is done individually. It will likely take one, but only going through the process and working with the flight surgeon before it’s submitted to Rucker will give you the real details, and only the final answer from Rucker will be definitive for you individually.

SGT (Join to see) from what I saw it comes down to meeting the standard for each eye. As opposed to the stereo test that measures both eyes, a class 2 flight physical measures the acuity of each eye. So, if both eyes are within standard, you're good.

I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think this is a condition that would be detrimental or require a waiver. of course, I would check with a flight surgeon to ensure you get accurate information
