Even though it is Texas going for the Death Penalty is a hard one to gamble on I think.
Deliberation might have been more in the favor of the defendant and definitely taken longer as you never know about the true feelings of the jury pool. Some are totally against the Death Penalty.

what do you think the defacto sentence will be for him? he's going into the TX DoC. how do you think certain inmates will take to him when they find out he killed a TX (US) hero?

The guy clearly has some mental issues although not to the extent to absolve him but enough to not ask for the death penalty.
