I realize the source is biased, but I suspect that most of the physical events of the story are accurate. The question is, is Russia being aggressive or is it the US? Also interesting to note is the reference to the USS Donald Cook and it's incident with Russia. Secondary question - do we think that Russia has an active airborne EMP weapon?

Russia has always been provocative. They count on us being more level-headed. Sometimes to our detriment, as such increasing incidents show.

Thanks for posting this MAJ Bryan Zeski --- I clicked the article and then was looking thru the "related articles" on the website. Very interesting to read the Russian perspective on a number of issues ...

Russia is clearly being provocative, having invaded two countries recently to take territory.

Not too certain, but I believe that the only thing needed to make a nuke an EMP weapon is a timing device. Not much of a stretch for any nuclear-capable country.

Who is acting aggressively and provocatively, us or them? (Specifically in reference to the USS Ross incident in the Black Sea)

Ahhh Flashbacks to USS Arkansas and I sitting off Busher in Iran just outside their Territorial Waters pissing them off or the TU-95 Bear Overflights over Adak, AK. Some things never change.

I wasn't able to open the article (thanks AF firewall), so I have to go off of the article's title/subtitle.

How do we react if/when Russian aircraft or vessels test the boundaries of our airspace and waters? We send someone out to escort them [away]. So if we attempted to test their boundaries, I wouldn't be so surprised if they react in essentially the same way. I think Russia, in general, acts rather provocatively. But I don't think we're exactly eligible to be on a high horse about it either. Our nations have a decent history of provoking each other in one way or another, as far as I know.

Thanks for the link, that one worked. Seems to be pretty much what I figured I suppose.
