The clearance process has changed, well, at least for TS/SCI. The times of ever 5 year (now 6 year) re-investigations are over. While I am not currently in an S2 Section, I was unaware that I had been put in the CE program meaning I didn’t have to resubmit my investigation request. My S2 didn’t know either until 9 months after I submitted without my investigation opening. It does not show on JPAS as being enrolled. Only a search of DISS will show it.

CE does not show up in JPAS. It only shows up in DISS - and it has to say enrolled in "Deferred." If it says enrolled in CE for "Other" then you're not in CE. Not everyone gets enrolled in CE so some people do have to do a reinvestigation. So those are not "over."

If you were enrolled in CE, you're fine. You retain your clearance as long as DoD CAF didn't email them and say otherwise.

JPAS is ---- yeah. There are things that show up in DISS that don't show up in JPAS. DISS was supposed to replace JPAS from what I was told but not sure what's going on with that now. It's a big mess really.

Yeah, my S2 saw in DISS “Deferred” with a date from 2015 in it 9 months after I submitted my e-QIP

SSG,

CE essentially allows you to not go through the whole reinvestigation process. As long as no “red flags” have popped up, you’re enrolled and if something pops up, you may get a Statement of Reasons or an RFI from the Central Ajudication Facility asking for clarification. CE has definitely helped with the backlog of clearance reinvestigations.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions!
