Residential course 9 months. DL double that and working full-time. No brainer, unless of course you are directed to one or the other.

I concur. The camaraderie, the memories, the daily engagement with hundreds of the finest NCOs in the US military, as well as international allied forces NCOs, is priceless. Take the leave of absence from your civilian world and go! Take the family, all expenses paid.

1SG,<div><br></div><div>Not that i have any experience with the SMC course, but my money would be on the residential course. I say this because we as people tend to pay more attention when someone is in front of us than we do at home or in the office looking at a computer where we can mute/pause it and multi-task, but most of all by doing it through DL you miss out on the vital networking portion of the class, at the level of SGM it is very important to get to know a wider group of your peers than you are exposed to daily.&nbsp;</div>
