What would you have done in my situation?

Stolen Valor. I got suckered by a guy claiming to be a veteran. He attended basic training at Great Lakes but went AWOL and has 1 month 6 days active. HE IS NOT A VETERAN! He was trying to get the VA to give him medical care and has been working this scam from Michigan to Georgia. This guy's name is Rick Hardy, originally from Traverse City, MI and was last known to be headed toward Athens, GA, traveling with a bogus service dog. Please do not be taken in by his bullshit.
