Fifth Element.

It's not only the best Sci-fi, it's the best SATIRE of a Sci-fi there is.

As you watch it, realize that the hero is not the hero, the girl is, and the damsel is the hero.

Not only that, but the villain and the hero never meet.

That's a pretty cool analysis. It really is one of those movies that only re-enforces the strengths of the genre (or perhaps, just the writers/director), and really makes a joke out of the rest of it. Even in the jokes, the movie is committed to itself in delivering a consistent and immersive experience.

I thought the movie was far-fetched in 1996 but when I became a Major and a UPS driver I thought it was not so far fetched.

Love the Fifth Element. Absolutely. Have watched it several times. Not the best sci-fi, just great fantasy with enough comic relief to remind you that the cast and crew aren't taking themselves too seriously

Wrath of Khan was my Favorite for a long time. I actually like the last two alternate reality Star Trek and Into Darkness. Last two times Leonard Nimoy seeing himself as a younger man and mentoring him was fascinating``

All even-numbered Star Trek movies are great.

This one was great for me! Good choice. The new star trek alternate reality ones done when Leonard Nimoy in the last 8 years were also good too in the sense of the sentimental note that he was having congestive heart failure and still being involved with the latest franchise. This new Khan version into Darkness was the last one where he appreared prior to dying a year ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT8npGLg2g8

The Matrix. It's so deep that I had to watch it 30 times.

The Bible compared to the Matrix. SFC Smith will be less confused after reading and reflecting

Deep? Eminently watchable. Mind bending CGI. But deep?

CPT Jack Durish - Yes I find it very deep, it seems to be based on the teachings of Paul Tillich concerning the systematic theology of "being."
