The separation from your family. Personally it didn't bother me since I wasn't close to mine but most of my buddies were very sad to not be able to go home for the holidays. I remember one year they held a drawing to see who could get leave. Everyone's name went into the hat. They drew mine. One of my closest friends name wasn't drawn so I changed places with him. I was very glad I did. That was the last Christmas for his youngest son. He had leukemia and passed away in January.
