While I was in Afghanistan, several DVD's helped me relax after stressful. Clerks II, the Firefly series, and Serenity all helped take my mind off of the mission. What music or movies helps you through your time overseas?

On my current deployment I am slowly going through the entire seasons of Southpark. The dry and sick humor at least takes away from the boredom and hurry up and wait. If I am not watching SP, I listen to music that is not mainstream. I feel overall it has often more meaningful lyrics and positive messages.

I spent time in Afghanistan, but didn't find out about an Australian singer/songwriter/diplomatic advisor until I got back. He has an album called The Dust of Uruzgon, about his time in Afghanistan. Soldier Hard and the rest of the Redcon-1 music group artist have been helpful to me as well.

Showbox has been a nice app out here for Android users, I can watch any movies or shows right away or can download it and watch it later. Good way to pass the boring time.

Soldier Hard is definitely a good one! I love reading about his stuff on FB as well. :)

Showbox, never even knew about it until you mentioned it, I am going to check it out. :)
