This is America the land of the free! Why should there be consequences to public non-violent speech?

MSgt James Mullis true, we have the right to say what we want to say. The caveat to that is that we have to be willing to accept the consequences for saying what we want to say. If I tell my boss he is retard, and should be selling urinal cakes in Afghanistan, I need to be willing to accept that my employment will be terminated. There are always consequences for what we say and do. Sometimes those consequences are wonderful and amazing, sometimes they just get us a kick in the groin.

SPC Andrew Griffin - Consequences for what? What is said is exactly true. Obama has been a disaster and has set back race relations a decade.

COL Jean (John) F. B. - "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Unfortunately, our current President rarely lives up to Martin Luther King's utopian vision. He is quick to jump onto the side (at least when it comes to the press) of those of "color" and slow to change his position when presented with the facts. It's not so much an issue of race "favoritism" with the president as it is a need to jump out front on an issue. The problem is, he often speaks about specific events based on his "feelings" without getting to the facts. In other words he often makes assumptions and we all know what happens when you assume things.

With due respect Col Jean.....it's people like you looking at the good old days and saying Black people were better off that is the problem. When Bush was president 4 blacks got hung in Texas his home state not word was said are those the days you would like to go back to live in. Racial injustice is all across the board in in World so please do not tell me about how Obama did or did not do he didn't make the racist that are in position of power or in the closet. At the end of the day speak about what you have done to end the cycle of racism!

SGT Rudolf Philemon - What absolute BS. How many whites have been murdered by blacks? How many blacks are murdered each week in places like Chicago. How many cops are myrdered by blacks for no reason other than they are cops (to include black and Hispanic cops). Your analogy is plain BS. Anybody who thinks clearly knows that Obama is a divisive racist and that race relations are far worse now than they have been in decades. Wake up...

COL Jean (John) F. B. - It is not within the brief of the President to 'better the lives' of people of color, except by executive order and that's exactly what the President's detractors accuse him of doing ... acting by executive order. The President doesn't pass laws; he signs acts of Congress into law. It is Congress that has tried to beat people of color back into slavery. To be fair about it, they've also included a few Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian-Americans and Euro-centric families. The absolute disregard of the poor and the politically disenfranchised is an open issue for all to see ... except of course for those who are politically guilty or their enablers. There is no way this President will ever be credited with a positive administration by the reactionary electorate led by southern know-nothings and repub do-nothings He had 2 strikes against him when he ran for office; he's neither black nor white and he's a conservative Democrat from Chicago, who the white southern power structure has denied and about which it has denied. The legislative authority was motivated and aligned against him ... publicly. The leader of the Senate declared it was the mission of the republicans and their enablers to defeat any and all this President's agenda. At any price!

I'm sorry, but SPC Andrew Griffin that photo makes it look like he is about to perform a Nazi salute. He is a crazy little man. He is so right wing that the republicans are not conservative enough for his ideals. Real consequences? None. His supporters will goose step right along, and his detractors will not be surprised by the comment.
