Many of us have one thing that really gets to us. I have to say that probably my biggest pet peeve (as it pertains to the military) are ill fitted ACU tops. I constantly find myself explaining to people how their uniform should fit.

When anyone rolls up their sleeves and it looks like total garbage. I mean if you are going to... At least do it right.

This was something so foreign to us in the Navy when we were given the NWU. We had to roll ours up like yours. The idea was so that we could quickly pull the sleeves down in an emergency like a fire at sea.

My biggest pet peeve are people that walk around with they hands on their belts like they are back in the Wild West. Every time I correct a Soldier/Jr. NCO for doing this they look at me like who am I, they quickly look at the rank on my chest, and respond with "Roger, Sergeant!"

With all due respect SFC Nuckols, is this actually against a regulation? I am only asking not questioning. I have never heard of or seen this before.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No worries, it's not against the regulation to my knowledge. To me is looks unprofessional and exhudes a lack of discipline. Again, just a pet peeve to me.

Recently my biggest pet peeve has become the wear of AR670-1 unauthorized boots. Since the most recent update to the AR last year, most synthetic leather boots are no longer authorized. So every time I see a leader walk up with GEN-I Nike boots on it blows my mind. They were great boots. I owned them, but they aren't authorized anymore. As leaders our soldiers look to us to follow our example. If we are out of regs the soldiers will be too.

I know I have only been in the army for about 5 minutes but the biggest things that irk me is hands in pockets and The Patrol cap looking like a hot mess, I see so many other soldier wear the PC like its a rag on their head just smashed everywhere with no definite form to it. I personally believe pride in uniform, look the part, be the part.

PFC (Join to see), the wear of the PC is a big thing and it bothers me also but some units have all of their SMs wearing it the same way. Just keep yours within regs and carry on.

I personally didn't like when legs were in airborne units, ESPECIALLY when they would make a big deal about having the maroon beret to people in black berets. I was felt embarrassed of them.

I once had a COL in a non-airborne unit who was entertaining his junior officers in the O Club. He noticed that I was the only one in the group who did not have jump wings. He then decided it was game on to mock me. Of course, the other LTs joined in. After about 15 min of the BS I excused myself. I went out to my POV and acquired my Sport Parachute log. Back inside I opened it up for the COL and explained that I was quite content to have jumped out of perfectly good airplanes but did not feel it necessary to have to endure 2 weeks of unnecessary crap before being allowed by the army to do it! All the "leg" BS stopped! :)

Five jump chumps too. When five-jump chumps refer to themselves as "paratroopers", i don't like that either

Concur with all the other listed pet peeves. Would like to add "walking while talking on a cell phone."

I was just reminded of one of my biggest pet peeves. SCREW THE DAMN LID BACK ON THE JAR! I went to take an Ibuprophen and ended up picking like 100 of them off the floor because apparently screwing the lid back on is just too much effort for the last person.

Since you opened that door 1SG (Join to see) people looking like a soup sandwich in any wide range of uniforms. I also do not care for the mightier than thou attitude that some get as they advance in rank. Your job is to take care of the mission and take care of your troops, not treat them like shit. Your success and your failure rests in the hands of your troops.
