You usually won't be able to go right after AIT. Once you've been at your first duty station a year, it's a pretty simple packet. Almost any 68W can apply and be accepted if you aren't on orders. The packet is a 4187, NREMT, BLS, and flight physical

Good luck. The Army has done a lot better over the last decade or so increasing the educational requirements within enlisted aeromedical community. They're earning their FP-C and CCEMT-P credentials along the way which have applicability in the civilian marketplace.
