When I was in from '74 - '77 and served in the Army Security Agency, the minimum ASVAB scores needed to qualify for the Army Security Agency was a minimum, depending on your particular MOS, of a GT score of 105, an SC score of 105, or an SL score of 105. And if that wasn't tough enough to qualify for, you also had to pass a grueling back ground check to make sure you qualified for a Top Secret Clearance. Is that difficult enough for you? By far, the highest bar set by the U.S. Army at the time. It was a branch of Military Intelligence that did all the ground work for the NSA along with the Naval Security Group and the Air Force Security Service.

I will start off by saying don’t try to qualify for a hard job. Go for a job you think you will like or wanna do cause you might get a MOS that al your friends get and not like it so chose What you wanna do and qualify for.
Now your ASVAB score matter but it depends on your line score. You and another soldier might score a 50 on the ASVAB but it don’t mean you qualify for the same jobs. You might score really high in one area and qualify to be an MP or lightwheel mechanic and they didn’t but they might score high to be a human resource specialist or supply specialist; so the ASVAB score matter but it depends on your line score also score!

Thanks for your Response! I guess my question was more along the lines of, if I had a "perfect score" what would be the best use of my abilities?

Well my answer will be it depends on what you wanna do with your career. You could be SF, Ranger, Airborne, you can be a truck driver, hunan resource, IT, intelligence, logistics,MP and more it all depends on What you wanna be in the military.
I just got back in the NG and I’m a 92Y supply specialist scored 64 on the ASVAB. I don’t know what other options I had when I join but I told the recruiter What job I wanted and I got it. Outside the military I’m a police officer but I wouldn’t want to be a MP in the military so it depends on what you wanna do. You wanna drive trucks then do it or you wanna be a medic then do it. You decide don’t let anyone decide for you!

SPC (Join to see) - The jobs that require the hardest/highest line scores are in the Skilled Technical Score category. 52E (12P?) Prime Power Operator, 37E Psychological Warfare, and 35C Electronic Warfare all require a ST Score above 100. This will give you an ideal of the line scores need for which MOS and there is a link on the page to how to decipher your line scores . http://www.instantasvab.com/score/requirements-for-army-jobs.html
