Before - smart mouthed punk immature kid
During - Learned discipline, follow rules, matured, respect for others
After - Still carry the values I acquired while I was on active duty.

Damn Should of used the same formula you did to answer the same question.
It seems the During and After are a bit different. Definitely simplified it.
Glad you had a good ride
I hope all is well

PO3 Aaron Hassay I credit the Marine Corps with making me a better person and having the determination, and perseverance to pursue my goals in life, and most of all, to NEVER give up! The Corps shaped my character.

Myself, the NCOs, and Soldiers would never compromise our values professionally and I hope not personally as well. Values are the constant in a universe full of variables. They tell me what my actions will be without question, even if I have to suffer for less than desirable circumstances. Life is not always fair, but I think I try to accept hiccups in life with grace. That is just how the world works.
