I love to use freeze-dried meals to make something hot to eat while out fishing, hiking ect... but the prices get to me. I'm usually buying mountain house. Any good military discount deals out there? I've checked into Guidefitters for the Ready Wise discount but after shipping you dont save much if anything at all.
Thanks in advance.

I use a dehydrator to make my own. You can also purchase large cans of freeze-dried components (such as meats, vegetables, etc) and make your own. Add some rice & beans to some freeze-dried components and spices...and you'll not only save money but get better flavors with less salt and other preservative ingredients.

Dehydrator's are the way to go. Besides meats, veggies, and fruit are the way to go. I make apple chips with cinnamon and sugar and can't keep them as they are eaten as soon as I make them by my family. LOL

Buy a dehydrator. Make hundreds of them for pennys on the dollar, and what YOU like!

I’ve been buying mine at Sierra (Trading Post). They have a decent variety in multiple brands here in MN including Mountain House, Ready Wise, Wild Zora, Backpacker Pantry & Peak Refuel. The price is a buck or more cheaper than Walmart and they give you a military discount on top, just bring your ID.
