What do you think of the Glenn Marine Defense scandal and how it is affecting Naval Officers 10 years after the fact?

3 admirals were forced to retire for improprieties related to the Asian defense contractor led by "Fat Leonard."

They violated Navy ethics policies (as was proven) and in my opinion got what they deserved.
With that said, I served under VADM Branch when he was my CO on the Nimitz during that deployment. I can honestly say I didn't personally see any misdoings, but I was an ADP IT so I didn't see much message traffic or anything like that.
If "Twig" were to call me today and say "IT1 I need you to come out retirement and come work for me" I would in a heartbeat. He was/is the type of Officer I would follow to hell even if I had zero chance of survival I have that much respect for the man and his leadership.

I agree they deserved to be punished. I'm just surprised it happened and was so spread across the Navy.

It speaks to the culture of the service when our most senior leaders think these actions are acceptable!

I agree. It's definitely not something I would have thought senior leaders would even consider but I am obviously wrong. It's embarrassing.

Wow! Sounds like some top secret high level "Tailhook, Butt Biting" was going on here...

I've met "Fat Leonard" when I was a much more junior officer, I thought he was shady then. I pulled back into Singapore not too long ago, and although Glenn Marine is no longer being used, you still see the same faces. As they say in SE Asia "Same, Same, but different...."

My father told me when I entered the army to be above reproach. Again when I was commissioned. I live my life maintaining my integrity, not only for me but also for my family and the people I work with, these officers forgot "to be above reproach"...sucks to be them, they should be "drummed" out of the military, they disgraced the uniform.

Unfortunate. Not Surprising. A lot of corrupt practices in Foreign Countries where we have to make port calls and get supplies. Working in such a Corrupt environment can rub off on even the best intentioned folks.
