I love it. You see, while I agree to caution and respect for the office, I do believe in checks and balances.

I'm happy his tenure as Commandant is almost over. From the quotes they added in the article it's hard to see a context of what was said, so I can't really be certain that his speech was completely against the President's decision making, because the way I read the quote was a bit of a warning to the people that just because we're thinking we're done with war and fighting that our enemies may not feel the same even if we have the resources to stop them, and tht if we were more engaged and involved with Iraq and its government ISIS may not have risen up, but he doesn't seem to pin blame on the President or anyone directly. Personally I'd like to see the complete text or a video of his speech before condemning someone whose own policies I don't agree with apparently condemning a President that I don't agree with either.

Well, honestly, I've never been one to agree with the officer corps speaking their mind in public. It's my opinion the officer corps toe the line or shut up. I realize that we want our officers to speak openly when dealing with professional issues - but I believe any officer that speaks out against the President or his administration should be silenced completely.
