CSM,
Great article, but it is missing a few pieces.
1. Many veteran resumes consist of the details of their daily duties. Employers look for your skill sets (i.e., databases, programming skills, sales skills, etc) as well as your accomplishments (i.e., increased operating efficiency by ...)
2. Some veterans don't have skills useful for employers. Veterans who have technical skills can transfer those skills to civilian employers. Likewise, veterans with useful degrees (technical, nursing, accounting, etc) have skills which are desired by employers. Liberal arts graduates and Criminal Justice graduates do not have education which is useful to employers.

It's been almost 23 years and there are times that the world is the same as it was in '91. Civ's no concept team training redundancy of in the team.

Hands down it was getting used to working amidst the undisciplined. Once you start excelling in your corporate civilian career, you begin to find many more people like you, that could have done great in the military (driven, focused, leaders, strong) but chose instead to spend their time in the marketplace.

I found getting back into Civilian work and shedding the formality and firm nature being in the Military brings. People were always telling me to relax and calm down.
