I am a 36B assign to the 501st replacement at Camp Carroll. I am trying to get some information on what to expect when I get there in less than 90 days. Can I be sent any of the Finance Units in Korea?

So you already have pinpoint orders? My experience in Korea is that enlisted typically get their pinpoint orders when they sign in at Yongsan on 0 day. Being a Finance NCO, they may pinpoint you now. If you're lucky you'll get to stay at Yongsan. Good duty there....

No Sir, I have no pinpoint as yet. So, from what I now understand, it is at Yongsan Soldiers are given their pinpoint if they never receive one. Does everyone goes through replacement after Yongsan? Thanks for the info and I do hope I get lucky.

Unless things have changed in a year, all soldiers arriving on pen will sign in with the replacement company at Yongsan (if you fly in on MAC, you will arrive at Osan AFB and bus you Seoul, where Yongsan is. If you fly in commercial, you will arrive at Incheon and bus to Seoul). The L&Os for your major command (your's will likely be 19th Sustainment) there will then begin to work your pinpoint assignment. Depending on who you go to and where you are will determine how long before you leave the replacement company and "ship" to your unit. As a SSG, you will likely stay in the temporary barracks while you with the replacement company. That can last up to 3-4 days. The 2ID guys tend to ship almost right away. Again, I am really only familiar with the process for soldiers staying at Yongsan (that's where I was both times I was in Korea). When you get your sponsor, you can ask them for more detailed info that will apply to you. Again, if you can manage to swing duty at Yongsan, go for it. It's great duty being stationed smack dab in the middle of Seoul! But I've also heard that Daegu isn't shabby duty either...
