I resigned my WO commission and went AMEDD and currently a LT; my ORB does not reflect my commissioned time as a WO; my AFCS active federal commission service. What can and can’t go on my ORB for my WO time? Is their a reg on this I can reference?

You are required to turn in a DA 1506 to your finance to update your Active Federal Service.
In your assignment section only your Commissioned officer time can go in and only in your current status (Active). It's in the AR for HR system management, I forget the reg number.

Thank you. I did the 1506 and my active federal service is ultimate but my active federal “commissioned” service doesn’t reflect my WO time. I was just wondering if it counted as AFCS time

1LT (Join to see) your commissioned service is completely irrelevant until it's time to retire. That's used to determine if you have enough time as an officer to retire as an officer. When you submit your retirement you will provide your service documents showing you have at least 8 years to retire as an officer

Under 10 U.S.C. §101, commissioned officers include commissioned warrant officers. Therefore, time served as a commissioned warrant officer counts as commissioned officer time under 10 U.S.C. §8911. Check with branch to get this corrected.

Thanks Sir, I will reach out to them Monday. I spoke with my unit S-1 and they had no idea. I appreciate you.

You are welcome. All I ask is you never forget your enlisted and warrant roots. And glad I could help.

Retired many years ago, but when I was an active duty personnel NCO it was my understanding that a warrant officer wasn’t “commissioned” but received a “warrant.” Not sure how they credit warrant officer service on your ORB. Seems like a question for AMEDD branch.

Title 10 was amended many years ago, (When CW5 was created) to commission CW2 and above.

Thanks for responding, WO are now commissioned officers and scrolled by senate. The are able to take command as well! The WO corps has come so far!
