Okay, here is Santa (AKA Embassy Marine Detachment Gunny) arriving on a camel at the US Embassy in Niamey, Niger. After arrival the kids would ride the camel, but only because the Gunny made his Marines wash that nasty thing clean! They should have received hazardous duty pay just for that task! Our military community consisted of my 2 Army people, the 6 Marines, and about 4 retired military. Regardless, we celebrated each and every military holiday is style and made every holiday joyous for our civilian counterparts. If you click on the image you see the complete photo much better. This was my first job as the Wardmaster of a hospital ward back in 2004 at our Christmas Ball. Fun times and a MAJOR learning experience for me coming from a Tank Battalion.
