What are the steps to move from enlisted to direct commision?

First step is to contact your career counselor (looks like a SFC Roberts, [login to see] ). We have a team that will process your packet and get you to the board.<br><br>Normally for direct appointment they are looking for soldiers with demonstrated leadership experience (i.e. SGT with WLC). <br>GT score of 110 cannot be waived; get with your leadership if you need to retake the ASVAB.<br>Petition your immediate commander for a letter of recommendation. <br>Be able to demonstrate citizenship.<br>Ensure you have a current secret or better clearance.<br>Be prepared to provide a certified transcript. Your copy probably won't do; they want it in a sealed envelope from the school.<br>

Remember to look at your terminology. I am one of the 1SG's at the Officer Candidate School and there is a distinct diference between Direct Commision&nbsp; and Commisioning. Direct Commision is if you are already in one of the Army's Specalities that require no commisioning source, such as Doctors, Lawyers and Mental Health Professionals. If you are interested in Commisioning through OCS, then you need to talk to your career counselor about submiting a packet to the OCS board. Right now the need for 2LT's is on the decline and the program is rigourous and tough to get through. I would recommend putting in your packet ASAP and begining to&nbsp;look at the OCS webpage for helpful tips. Consult any officers in your CoC who are OCS graduates and ask them for help as well.

I would suggest hitting up some of our very helpful mentors of the RP admin, they would either be a great asset for information or could direct you towards someone with more knowledge on the subject.  Good luck.
