What are the repercussions for staying past your DEROS?

I had a DEROS extension to September, but it was recently cancelled and moved up. I now have an assignment, but no orders. I sent the second DEROS extension request in but there is almost no way it will be approved in time, but my report date is still a bit out. Any insight into the repercussions that may fall on me would be much appreciated so that I may prepare/brace myself.

something you should really be asking/following up with the MPF! if you have a good supervisor or commander, they may be able to fast track the process...

I have been pinging them several times a day, I'm pretty sure they are tired of hearing from me by now haha. My First Sergeant said that since it was not my fault I shouldn't get any trouble. I've heard about people missing their RNLTD, but never a DEROS, so I am curious of what could happen.

The Shirt is most likely correct as you not getting in trouble. Someone somewhere screwed up. However, no matter whose fault it is, it will still impact you. Keep doing what you are doing. In the AF, the squeaky wheel definitely gets the grease.

There should be no repercussions against you as someone somewhere else dropped the ball. However, keep the pressure on MPF and your Shirt to help you get answers. Orders may come at the last minute, so be prepared as you may get very little notice.
Make friends with someone in MPF as they will be your greatest resource at this point.
Good luck.

Update: My DEROS has expired, so I have been placed on "forced leave" status to be able to out-process without being illegal. I'm not exactly sure if anything is coming my way, but there are definitely some strongly worded emails flying around. I'm just trying to get to my next base ASAP so that I don't burn all of my leave.
