Hi all, I recently got picked up for a mob to ISA Air Base Bahrain for 9 months. Orders say I'll be doing security.
My questions are- What is ISA Air Base/ Bahrain like? Is there good internet there? What will the living conditions be for a E-4? What is there to do for fun? Any other info/experience on Bahrain will be very helpful to me!

Hey Shipmate - wondered if you had any feedback on Isa AB after your deployment. I'm looking at one now. Appreciate any guidance!

I went last year, it's not bad. I mean, compared to other Army living conditions, it's pretty nice. It might be a bit below standard for Navy personnel. I know the Air Force guys at Al Udeid would get compensation for how "below standard" the barracks were, but they were the best I had ever seen. I would say Isa is about a 6 out of 10. Definitely best rotation/deployment in the Middle East, by far.

I was stationed there in 10-11 and let me be the first to tell you that it is a tent city. And as far as internet. You’ll have to figure that out for yourself. That being said this was a while ago so maybe they have improved

You're in for a treat! Isa is the best base in the Navy! I should know, I am out here now and I hate that I leave here soon! We live in these palace of trailers! We have Chef's w3ho prepare you a gormet meal! You are seated and they bring you a menu, and Lobster and steak tar-tar are always on the menu! We have showers and toilets in every room, and wifi access is fast and dependable! We are limited to only five 750 ml bottles of alcohol in our rooms at one time, but fortunately there is a great variety on base at the NEX.
They call deployments out here tough, I think they say that so that people back home don't know how good we have it! We now make the NSA per Diem rates, and all of us have either Ford Expeditions or Dodge Chargers for vehicles.
Getting onto and off of base is very easy and straight forward! I have snuck in many ladies and they all can get uBers back to Manama easily enough!
You're going to love it in Isa!
