What are the consequences for failing a diagnostic PT test?

Long story short, I’m on a long-term temporary profile. Took a diagnostic per the commanders instruction and passed. Took the record and failed. Now my CO wants me to take two more diagnostic pt tests before I take my second record. Can I be punished for failing a diagnostic after I failed my first record pt test?

Do you understand what a diagnostic test is? Technically there is no such thing, it is a not for record test, but it can be used to identify problem areas. Your commander is actually doing you a service in having you take these tests prior to your next record. It might be better to think of them as practice tests to see where you need to "study" more before taking the exam that counts.

How can you take any test on a profile? After you explain this it may help fold with their responses. Thank you for your service.

I have been on a temporary profile for upwards of 90 days. I was told by my CO that in order to take a record pt test, my temporary profile had to exceed 90 days or become a permanent profile with P2 or higher on my PULHES.

That is correct, however taking any type PT test while on a profile likely violates the profile. Your doctor has to clear you for all events before hand. Don’t violate or damage your issue further. Also don’t go against your command as it appears they are following the right track. Just check in with your Doc or PA. SPC (Join to see)

The Commander can have you take a Diagnostic whenever they so choose to. This isn't punishment. This is to see if improvement is being made. Also, this is normal for units to order Diagnostics monthly until a Passing happens. This is also considered Remedial PT. Which is also within their realm and normal.

Thank you SSG. My concern is that while I’m preparing to take my second record APFT, if i fail a diagnostic in the process will I suffer any reprocussions?

SPC (Join to see) - No. There are no "repercussions" for failing another diagnostic in between each Record. The only repercussions you are facing is being Flagged for that first Record Fail, staying on Remedial until such time as you pass, and a separation chapter if you fail the next Record.
