This is my first look in the secondary zone. I have not been through SLC. Theoretically, if I get a sequence number and it is called while I am deployed, will I still get promoted? or will I be put back on the list until I get SLC when I return to my home station.

If you get selected during this board, you will have 18 months to complete your required school. If not, then you will be removed from the promotion standing list on the first day of the 19th month and you will have to be re-boarded the following year. Check out the employment of the Army's STEP program as this is where the organization is headed. Best of luck!

But if you are removed from the promotion list through no fault of your own, deployment, lack of seats in the SLC within the window, etc, will it have a negative impact when you come up for consideration again?

Thank you all for your responses. I just wanted to be clear. I'll be in school as soon as I re-deploy!
