What are the best ways to set yourself up for a private sector management and/or QA/QC job after the military?

I have my Bachelor's degree in Management, Leadership and management experience as an NCO, and plan to complete my Master's degree within the next four years. What are the jobs that I should look into to getting into mid level management and or quality assurance/control in the private sector. Are enlisted leaders sought after in any specific industry or career fields? Random topic, but I am just trying to formulate some ideas and realistic outlooks for life after the military.

I always recommend PMP certification. It is internationally recognized and teaches you to oversee projects of any type. Thank you for your service.

Thanks, I was actually looking into that recently. Are you able to do the test online or do you have to do an in person course for it?

There are both online and residency. Do a little more research and see what works best for your situation.

SFC (Join to see) I would take a long hard look at the aerospace industry. Good luck.

I would look into classified projects. If you already have a clearance, insure it was just updated before announcing your retirement. You bring a lot of value with a recently updated clearance. If not, the new employer pays for each updated clearance.
Someone has already written about the PMP certification. If you’re interested in the compliance end of projects and you’re into contracting, look into the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification as contractors are the first line of defense against contracting fraud. Also, you will get a job much faster with networking than without. A recommendation for that “perfect” job will get you that job. Plus that person whom you served with on AD and is now in the private sector will also receive a bonus if you’re hired by the employer.
