I just took my ASTB. My scores are:
OAR = 64
AQR = 8
PFAR = 7
FOFAR = 9
I am posting this because my GPA is kind of low. I am senior in college right now majoring in Chemical Engineering at a very reputable and rigorous program/school. I am an EMT and a volunteer firefighter. My GPA is 3.00. I work 30+ hours a week on average as an EMT to pay for school, which affects my GPA heavily. I was wondering what my chances at the board are? My board is this November. My choices are:
#1. Naval Aviator (Pilot)
#2. SWO
#3. Flight officer

Thank you for your response!

To answer your question usually I'd say you have a solid shot with a PFAR of 7 (that's the score they look at mostly for pilots) but there's a bit of a force reduction here at Pensacola so I can't say that with as much confidence.
I got a 7 with a similar GPA, and I know of people who did worse in both categories and still got accepted.
Put your packet in, hope for the best. Worse case scenario take the test again.

Best of luck. Anything I can offer to help let me know. I'm here in Pensacola right now

Very slightly if at all.
Don't rule out NFO though That's a sweet gig man That's in need right now. And you have great NFO scores.

Until you enlist and get through you training- you can't apply for OCS.

Just curious, why SWO over FO?

#1. I would rather be on a ship than sit in the back of a jet. Only reason i would want to be in a plane is if i can fly it
#2. My recruiter told me if you put SWO as you 3rd option, they will not select you. Apparently they don't like being the last choice

This could be different by the time you get to OCS, but if you have some previously unseen medical issue (aviation is notoriously strict), you could be medically disqualified and put into SWO or Supply. They may have other options, but those are the two I've heard the most. We had a decent chunk of flight atrites in my basic Supply class. Just a thought...
