The last SM I helped randomly showed up to the hangar, I asked him what he was doing and he was seeking an LOR for a flight packet. I did an initial interview and exchanged contact info to get a good judge of his character and competence over the course of a week or so. Then as soon as I, being an Aviation 1SG spoke on his behalf to our BN Senior Warrant, the LOR was an easy sell. Sometimes it's just a matter of showing up and talking to people and hopefully you run into the right person that isn't going to give you lip service and ultimately blow you off.

Thanks, 1SG. I'll definitely be giving that a shot.

SPC (Join to see) You can also always call the CAB S1 and set up an appointment with the BDE Command Chief Warrant Officer.

If you're just starting the packet I would highly recommend taking the SIFT first and getting the flight physical done. There's no reason to do anything else if you fail the test / become medically disqualified for x reason. Once those two things are out of the way the rest of the packet is a matter of how quickly you complete it. Also, most Warrants and Officers will expect to see a working packet with the above already completed as it's indicative that you're serious about becoming a Warrant and not wasting their time.

If those are completed or you're already working on them, great! SGM (Join to see) advice is solid and what I would do in your shoes. Often times Aviators are more than willing to provide their submitted packets as templates for you to tailor your packet appropriately.
