If you're looking for work once you get out of the military, my suggestion would be Intel analyst but geospatial-intelligence imagery analyst is a good one too

I think 35L is taking E4's, maybe E5's but not promotable ones, if you can make it through the AIT, there won't be many jobs better for after Army employment. The schools and assignment possibilities are huge and varied. And for some reason, they all seem to think they are really cool, which has to have some basis in reality...

MSG I appreciate the input. I was looking at some videos of each MOS earlier this evening. Both look like good choices and I am still hoping to find someone who works in the job to tell me what it is they do and what they like about it.

Fair enough, I am a 35Y which is basically a combination of 35L and 35M at the E8 level, I was a 35M (97E) my entire career. I won't tell you much about it since it is closed now. But I have been a 1SG for 35L Companies, twice. What you get from it: You become a badged federal agent, you get a civilian clothing allowance, if you're in FORSCOM, you'll get your initial and then go to the motorpool like everyone else, if you are lucky enough to end up in INSCOM, you'll be in civies nearly daily if working as an agent and you'll get the allowance yearly. You have the potential to go to DLI and get a language, you can go to many cool guy schools and if you are good at what you do, you can apply for even better, cooler, programs. What they don't like: Paperwork and windshield time if you're in INSCOM. Everything requires something written up, if you're an agent at JBLM and someone in BFE Idaho needs a Tarp briefing...suit up. But hey, there is hotel living and per diem with that. Giving TARP briefings is not seen as a privelege, but if you like talking to people ii is no big deal. And just occasionally in the job, you get to catch a spy or a traitor. Here is the best thing, if you want to apply, you need to have a local agent screen you anyway. Where are you now? I can get you a POC and they could pitch it better than I can.
