So today I went to the dentist for my annual check-up and cleaning. They have this device that not only scraps at your teeth but shoots water out at you as you try to hang on for that dental readiness class 1. Anyone else been tortured and waterboarded lately?

I'm glad somebody is finally starting to speak up about the horror that is modern dentistry!
**no offense to modern dentists intended, especially if your mine...I have an appointment coming up**

I had a molar removed after the filling basically electrocuted itself loose or something. They stuck me on the chair and laid me back, shined the light in my eye, and then gave me some sort of gas. No not the kind that makes noises come out of your bottom, I think it was nitrous oxide or something. Sort of reminded me of your post LTC (Join to see).
Incidentally since the subject is up -- has anyone else had any sort of weird reaction to the gas they give you? I had an adverse reaction to it. First, whilst conscious but fading fast, I apparently made inappropriate remarks to the incredibly attractive dental assistant. Then, whilst out, I feel like I had maybe an out-of-body near-death experience. I can't really describe it, I just remember feeling like I was about to die, like my heart was about to stop, and being powerless to stop it. It was very surreal and had a very profound effect on me.
When I came up, the dental assistant said my legs were twitching and she asked if I had experienced any discomfort. I told her about my experience, and she said that happens sometimes. Then she told me that I made several explicit passes at her, and that's a whole 'nother thing on its own.
Just wanted to see if anyone else got a freaky experience with feeling like they were dying.
