I am getting close to my retirement date (roughly a year, unless I pull MSgt off by some miracle), and am looking to be retiring in Colorado Springs. My wife and I have an arrangement for living upon retirement, until we can afford to purchase our own home (long story), so we will be putting most of our goods in storage. My question is can you do a split shipment on your last PCS where certain items go into storage, while others are delivered to a specific address (i.e. bedroom furniture to living quarters, rest to storage)?

Would accepting MSgt promotion require more time-in-service before retirement? Learn about that stipulation before accepting the promotion.

It would but I would take it. It is a matter of what the board scores my package at. I’m someone who always goes into a situation with multiple opinions.

The only way around that is rent a U-haul and take what you want yourself and have the rest shipped to storage.
