Try to find a running group. They can teach you the basics of pace, breathing and provide an extra boost of motivation. I found running to be difficult at first, but it has grown into a very fulfilling hobby.

I hated running back before I had my knee surgeries haha. I'm just trying to get back on jump status and in an Airborne unit again, so I need to start running again. I'm sure there's a running group on Ft Bragg somewhere haha, I'll look around and see what's going on

Meet up with the wear blue: run to remember chapter in Bragg! They meet every Saturday morning, great group of people with a great cause. They will definitely give you some good pointers

I applaud your efforts to better yourself and to get back in cardio shape however a military health professional deemed it necessary to put you on a permanent profile not only to protect your injury but to provide a means not to do any further damage to your condition.. My tip would be not to " come off" your Permant Profile but rather use your other skill sets to help others and take other avenues to further your career so you do not jeopardize your health or cause a lifetime of pain and suffering. In the end this is your decision and you know your body the best. I wish you good luck either way.
