That's a great story! I served with sailors that participated in live fire NGFS in Beirut during that period. Later with those sailors received a couple of expeditionary medals. I'm still miffed when someone sees veteran on my drivers license and ask, "What "WAR" were you in?". Charlie Murphy, I could see him doing all that, and the comment about it being only three days of a six year contract, that earns a lot of respect! During the '80's (and well before then) Navy and Marines were utilized under the "Executive Privilege Act" (as I'm sure you well know of) by the President to carry out orders less than 30 days. I've got a point to tie all this together, I'm just too tired right now.....sorry
