Ok I just got done at MEPS and it webt completely different then i was expecting but in a good way. It was very easy, i am currently IRR so i was able to keep my MOS and my H8 identifier. All they did was verify all my info was correct and called ft knox (my IRR unit) and asked what places were available for assignments and I got to pick between a couple. Its as easy as that I also got to keep my rank and have my ship date. Looking forward to being back active duty and I hope this helps easy other peoples minds that will be doing something similar to me.

So wait. I am in a similar situation. Are you going directly to your duty station? Or are you going to BCT? I am also IRR until 2020. But I want to go active like yesterday. I was told no BCT no AIT. Straight to my unit.

What duty station did you pick? How many choices and what were they? Please excuse me if I'm asking too many questions. It's a coincidence that we both are in the same situation at the same time. So did you not do the whole process at MEPS(Medical, dental, vision, etc.)?

I had two options but sometimes it may be more or sometimes may just be given on option all depends on available assignment. I dont have to go to prior service bct or ait i just go straight to my duty station.

I’m in AIT now as a prior service getting reclassed after a 2 year break. The process is much easier than the prior service business rules make it seem. It took some time for everything to fall in place but absolutely worth it.

Good luck. Hope it all works out in your favor.

You're break in service for active time ends at your ETS. Your break in service for pay purposes ends at your IRR. So you will have a different PEBD and BASD
