This is a unique friendship we have! But what makes you seek more?

As I sit here with only a very few "friends" on my "friends list" I sit here pondering....
What encourages you do seek out another veteran? Is it because you genuinely think that you have something to learn from them? You see their leadership abilities? You NEED something from them (advice, help,ect...)? What is it that sparks your interest in someone on here? What is that one thing that no matter what you see and think to yourself " I REALLY need to know this person." ?
I ask this silly and mundane question simply because I have had some people that I've never met before request to be a contact on here. Now for "us" veterans, thats not completely out of the ordinary! For us, meeting someone one day and protecting them with our own life the next isn't all that indifferent. Now if you think about this in "the real world"....would it be the same way?
If you saw someone's picture on Facebook, or Twitter and thought that with the picture, and some basic information about their lives and seeing some of the things they've posted...would it be ok to friend request them? Would you accept a friend request from someone out there on another one of these social media sites?
My answer is a big "Negative Ghost Rider!" I would not! I know this probably isn't all that big of an issue. However...Think about it for a second! If you think that we (and I mean ALL of us on here when I saw WE) Have a brotherhood or kinship that is truly parallel to NOTHING else on the face of this earth! In my opinion is request away on here! I want to know ALL of you. I have something to learn from all of you! I want advice, help, and friendship with every last one of you!
But the question remains the same! What drives you to seek more people on here? Advice? Help? Points? SPILL IT!
