I'm using vlogging as an experiment with my video editing skills. Does anyone else Vlog or edit video?

I've done a little vlogging. You can see the results in the Entrepreneur section of my weblog http://www.jackdurish.com/4/category/entrepreneurs/1.html I use the AVS Video Editor which is cheap, simple to use, and has a broad range of features

Sweet. Thanks for sharing. Right now, I'm using Open Shot but it freezes a lot. That's the only issue I have with it.

Never heard of After Effects. I use kdenlive. Have you used any others - Sony Vegas, Openshot, etc ?

I use Cyberlink's PowerDirector to edit video/audio. You can get a copy for around $100. I have not used it extensively...but have used it for these two videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5K3FJ8Yis8 and http://vetlaunched.com/9steps/

I also use an inexpensive $20 Audio Technica lapel mic that has a 20' cable that I plug directly into my laptop using a free version of Audacity. Not sure it's the greatest set up...but it does all work for me. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Let me know what you think...I'll look at the software you noted as well.

I'm glad I came back to this. I've just signed up for those free steps. Did you ever get a chance to check out any of that software I mentioned ?

I do use Audacity. The KDENLIVE and OpenShot looks interesting. Is there much of a learning curve to them? I'm not an open source guy and like to have good instruction to refer to. Would like to hear any feedback you might have on my videos on my site. http://www.vetlaunched.com

SGT Brian Richardson - kdenlive is for Linux only. OpenShot is very basic. I now use QTractor for audio FX (compression/EQ) before blending in with video. Did you ever check any of them out ?

Note I never saw your comment because you didn't mention me, as I did you with the "Reply" button.

I just recently got a GoPro 4 HERO and am now taking a look into Vlogging. I think it would be an interesting way to connect with people and to help not only share my thoughts but show others some different ways of doing things that they want to consider.

I agree. Some people prefer to watch and listen over reading. I'm one of those guys. I truly dislike a lot of typing.
