The idea here is to share content/discuss topics that fall outside traditional or established thread topics. So, if have something military-related or applicable to the 'military experience' but it doesn't fit neatly into an existing thread topic or category... well then, no problem this is your thread! It could be a story of your own, a published article, a photo or historical account, resource, link, or just about anything else under-the-sun. I know this'll be a blast, and pretty much any topic goes, just a couple of basic rules--let's keep it within the bounds of good taste, and as always the 'golden rule' applies--that is to display respect for all members, of all ranks, and in all statuses. Now strap-on your seatbelts, pull-up a keyboard and let's get this this thing started; thank you for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

I think this is a great idea, as its good to get "outside" the typical realm of conversation sometimes, but I think this also demonstrates another example of how RP might benefit from moving towards a more traditional Forum design with categories or tabs for different broad topics - "Customs and Courtesy" - "Military Technology" - etc.

Really? We had crayons, No (LOLS) and a few clipboards but I would rather go back to that because learning to forecast means relying on instincts and precision.

You remember those old teletypes in Good Morning Vietnam?? Well we had teletype like that in Germany(81-84) and you had to wait for a cue (VB - Ramstein) It was so much trying to disseminate forecasts when one error typing would require a do-over.

An irate F-4 pilot was irritated until he realized my equipment was antiquated and there was severe weather moving in. Later that night 88 knot winds at the MAC pad caused 70,000 dollars of damage to two C-141 Starlifters.

My review of this unforecasted event drew rave reviews from Air Weather Service and flightcrews at thte base. I particularly loved closing the base by forecasting severe icing. It was disputed but I was right. Don't get me started on the Titan II Missiles that nearly killed my cousin.
