It seems that the Commonwealth of Virginia could soon be the 38th state needed to ratify the ERA (Equal Right Amendment - https://www.equalrightsamendment.org/incongress) aka 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

After looking as https://www.equalrightsamendment.org/ website I found this map interesting - https://www.equalrightsamendment.org/era-ratification-map.

It is important to note that the time limits for ratification of the ERA have been removed by the Congress:

The history of the ERA (https://www.equalrightsamendment.org/the-equal-rights-amendment (&) http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/suffrage/effie3.htm has been both purposeful and colorful. I have worked with some great and not so great female leaders, just as I have worked with some great and not so great males leaders. So what lessons show people, especially those of us who are now and were once "...at the tip of spear?"

https://www.trumanlibrary.gov/education/lesson-plans/warren-g-harding-and-1920-election-women-pave-way

The very best women and men I have worked for and with have be confident without the need for undue arrogance, trustworthy-loyal-helpful that are the basics of good leadership, willing do and engage vs "just ordering." Of course, I never expected the Admiral to pick up a mop and swab their own decks, but when people are "genuine servant leaders" it is amazing how a command or a business operates toward common goals.

The framers of the were genius in choosing "We the people...." to begin the document that governs our nation. They could have chosen other language to start the document, by they chose these three words.

YES!, some people can argue all day using certain "trigger words" about the framers, but such "linguistic gymnastics" is only a distraction by the "shallow" minds that have not taken the time to read and study the founding documents or the colorful history, good-bad-ugly that surrounded their creation, but who seem to have the loudest microphones in society today.

So my question is simple do you as an individual support or not support the ERA as it is currently proposed by the US House and Senate?

Finally, for those who want to comment on how do you also see the ERA impacting voting, especially after the voting patterns in the 2012 and 2016 Presidential elections, please share. See these data summary graphics presented in this post.

As always, we are men and women who have been willing to fight and die for the rights of others. Disagreeing with respected is the standard. I like healthy honest debate!!!

Which rights do women not have that this would provide them? Time to move on to some real issues. This is a 70's retread. It had plenty of time to get approved and failed. Let's get current and move forward.

Thank you for not jumping on the bandwagon, The constitution has already been amended to reflect that rights protected by the government are recognized without consideration of sex.

In my opinion, this is long past due. I can't understand why it's so hard to ratify ensuring that all American citizens are given the same rights, regardless of gender.

there is absolutely no reason men and women should not be treated as equals in the workplace

The problem is that all the women in my workplace are smarter and better at their job than me. I think they should all be fired so I could stand out. I want more money.
