I wanted to brag on the Texas State Guard a little, we just delivered toys this past weekend to children's hospitals around the state. Our Commanding General had to increase our goal twice.

This was my first year actually going along to deliver the toys and it was a humbling and rewarding experience. Keep in mind we are nowhere near as big as the Marines' Toys for Tots, or as well known.
Here is a pic of those of us from the 19th RGT at Medical City Dallas.

Congratulations, SSG Christopher Parrish, on a job well done! Doesn't it feel great to do something for someone who is in need? Every time I get the chance to help out with things like this, I jump at it, because I know how great it feels to "pay it forward."
Your post is an excellent answer to my discussion thread from a couple days ago. And the answer is a resounding YES for the Texas State Guard!

Have you ever paid it forward? | RallyPoint
I saw this video at cnn.com today and was reminded how GREAT it feels to pay it forward. What an excellent surprise for these folks! Do any RallyPoint members have experience with paying it forward? Either giving or receiving? http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2014/12/10/cops-surprise-drivers-with-christmas-presents.rob-bliss-creative.html

Yes sir, it was a very rewarding experience. And to top it off, I got to see my CSM in a Santa hat pulling a pink wagon full of toys. You just can't beat that!

Way to go! There's nothing like the pure innocence and joy on a child's face when they get a toy for Christmas.
