Take a year off to finish college, or apply for STA-21?

I recently had a conversation with my Command Master Chief about transferring to another command or pursuing a commissioning program, and he invited me to consider taking a year off my military service and finishing college, then applying for OCS upon my return to active duty. What is everyone's opinion on this route? Is it feasible? Would my chances be better for STA-21?

You have to consider the downsizing that is going on. With that said, I would talk to a recruiter about prior service being allowed to join, that could possibly answer your question.
