I knew lots of very articulate ENLISTEDS in the Navy. It probably has to do with learning two languages, one for all male venues (gone by the wayside now) and one for operating in a civilian society (at home). I found that when I left the military confines, that all foul language turned off immediately.

I feel just the opposite. What is in the heart comes out of the mouth. If you have a bigger vocabulary, then you can express yourself and get your point across in better ways than to swear or curse. I had a TI that never sweared and I got his point loud and clear. Using consistent expletives in a leadership role to me is unprofessional and shows ignorance. I am not saying I am righteous by no means (but for the grace of God) as I have let them fly in a bit of anger, but we can all work toward a better vocabulary. "The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of the fool spouts folly." Proverbs 15:2. "A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit." Proverbs 15:4.
