Hey guys, so I've been around 2 instances where an M984A4 had been towing larger vehicles (One Hemmt Cargo and an ASV) in both cases, the right stinger cylinder sheared clean off the mount where it's pivoting on the wrecker. Is this a common problem. One case I was in the cab of the towed vehicle getting into place at H8 school and another while Dropping an ASV to park in the motor pool. Any ideas?

They have been known to break welds mostly do to the vehicle being towed is lifted too high also consider how many people have used that particular vehicle and frequency of the use of the stinger and then factor in each persons ability to operate said equipmeny. Between all of those you can pretty much figure on just about anything happening.

Now I had never seen one sheer off but I also know that those in my unit have trained together on the system so everyone knew how to operate it and the did it with the same precision. Again it comes down to how everyone uses it and whether they fight with the other vehicle alot
