Was that the Spartan Monterey Sir? I'm thinking about running the Spartan at Fenway Park. It would be my first OCR.

LCpl Brian Maloney One cool thing about Spartan is you can volunteer for Half Day, and get a race entry for the second half of the day. If you do a full day volunteer, they give you a hoodie AND a race entry for a future event.

Spartan is a great race. I'll be doing my second one 8/7.

LCpl Brian Maloney No, this was the North Vancouver (Canada) one. I was not ready either for the elevation (1,000-1,100 M at the start) or the amount of "up" (elevation gain of 400-500 M over the first two miles). I should have been living in my training mask for the two months prior.

Great view from the top of the mountain, though.
