Should gangs be required to take gun safety classes?

Due to the fact that the NRA has gun safety classes, should all gang bangers be required to carry permits and gun safety curricula?

Yes SSgt (Join to see) all gang members and wannabes should be afforded the privilege of attending weapon safety classes so that they can safely handle machetes, knives, axes, power tools and all kinetic weapons. Then they can proudly display their certificates which could be modified to include their "colors," distinctive names and logos :-)
Legal assistance should be afforded to the gangs so that they can trademark their names, logos, etc. :-)
Those gangs which do not have logos could be encouraged to develop their own unique colors so as not to infringe on "trademarked" gang names and logos. :-)

That question is pretty silly. Shouldn't ALL citizens who carry guns be subjected to the same laws? Why just "gang-bangers"?

I agree! Cpl (Join to see) But in the case of gang members, the laws are not relevant, they do not care about laws anymore than birds care about flight plans. lol

I don't think it would matter if they did because they would still be doing the same thing. They will still be using guns for violence and still find a way to get guns that are not registered to commit crimes so they can't be tied to the gun. I know there are great people out there trying to help stop the violence. There are even men who grew up in the gangs trying to talk to these young men and women in gangs these day. There are a number of good programs to try and change these gang banger way of doing things. Our jails are full of these gang bangers and most of them get out of jail and go right back in or end up dieing by a bullet. The way they lived there lives. Sorry to say.

They're criminals and criminals by definition don't follow the rules. So why would they take a gun safety class? It's not like they acquired their guns with a background check...
