I disagree. Why accept anything? If one doesn't like their situation, then change it. Of course it is difficult to do that most of the time, but nothing worth having is easy. I learned long ago that about 95% of the situations that happen to us are the result of our own choices. Sometimes said choice maybe small at the time but have long reaching consequences. So I would define resilience as being able to overcome and move past a situation. Awesome post though, I like posts like this that make me think.

Accepting the situation is key. Anything else would be denial.

LTC Stephen F. I hear you brother. I have been forced from one career to another, involuntary retired from my dream job. I felt sorry for myself for a couple of months. My soul mate has never left my side, she kicks me in the ass, and slapped me back into reality. Resiliency quickly followed. I lost track of it, but found it soon enough. Still can't find ALL of my marbles though. If that helps @SFC Jim Mergott
