I really hate cases like this. The VA has got to stop this nonsense. His family made "considerable sacrifices" and he has "crosses to bear" because of a football injury? His words... not mine.
He didn't serve one day on AD. Look at the backlog because of people like him.

I remember the first time I saw this. I was sitting at work, waiting for the oncoming shift to switch out, and a huge smile crept across my face. Literally turned to my NCO at the time and told him he had to watch it. It's refreshing to see an elected official stand up for what is right.
