(Reenlistment) Army to Navy, Training Room question.
Its been awhile. My g-dad reenlisted USAF after break in service for college after Navy in WW2
I would recommend him going to talk to a Navy recruiter 1st to see what jobs are available to him if he is eligible. As far as I know he would have to ETS first before he could go into the Navy, there is no cross-service enlistment options that I know of or have ever heard of, except of if you are going from active to reserve/guard or visa-versa.
You are correct in him having to have the RE1 code to enlist/reenlist though, but again I would recommend him speaking with a Navy recruiter 1st before committing to ETS from the Army just in case they don't have anything for him, I guess my 1st question would be why, if he is already in active Army why would he be looking to get out and switch back to the Navy, does he not have the motivation or career options available to him in the Army since he is already in?
