while giving a PT test eralier on this week, i noticed one of the soldiers during the sit up event. This one soldier really got my attendtion, it was really a double take moment because this soldier when they went to the down postion i noticed only one of thier shoulder blades were touching the ground, and this soldier would swtich between their shoulder blades once one side got tired. So now this brings me to my question would these sit up count or would they be considered incomplete?

"Lower your body until the bottom of your shoulder blades touches the ground."
Blades is plural. Both shoulder blades must touch the ground.

One caveat to this...when I was an AIT Instructor my fellow Instructors to include the AIT PSGs would always tell the Soldiers that their elbows had to be touching the ground BEFORE the start of the event. Time and time again I would go along with it during the test (so as to show a unified standard) but would pull them aside to show and read them the regulation which CLEARLY states "Your arms and elbows need not touch the ground." #grindsmygears

yes that is what is in the FM so I understand completely. I did just like SSG above said but I pulled the soldier aside and asked them, their response was" this is how I have been doing them since basic and AIT" Oh by the way this soldier is BRAND NEW TO THE ARMY!

Per army reg, both blades must touch to count as a full situp.
