Even though this statement is part of our American Heritage, I see many implications as far as religious freedoms are concerned...

I'm all for it, but these athiest and agnostics seem to have a ton of money and hire lobbyist to go and lobby for them and get away with all kinds of crap in having GOD completely removed in our society. UGH

PO1 Tony Holland - so what about the civil and constitutional rights of the officer or those who want to display their belief of God? It goes both ways

Ever heard of separation of church and state? Those patrol cars belong to the state's taxpayers, not the individual officers. And like the military, they shouldn't be wearing religious symbols on their uniforms unless they are willing to wear the emblems of every religion.

PO1 Tony Holland - If his town or city agrees to it then it should not be a problem

Except for that pesky little thing called the Constitution which is supreme over state and local laws.

Welcome to a democracy where the whinny bitchy minority can make the majority do anything they want because those in power sit on their collective asses.

The Constitution does not guarantee Freedom FROM Religion.....it guarantees Freedom OF Religion. Meaning you are free to not believe or believe......it does mean you are free to force others beliefs out of existence.

Side Note----I don't believe in Bigfoot.....so when people make a TV show about him that airs for 5 years I just shake my head and move on because well...there is no Bigfoot so why do I care.

So if I extend this logic to belief in God or the Great Giant Squid why would I bother to get upset or worked up because some else chooses to believe is something that I do not believe in...it has no effect on my belief structure.

Guess what i'm saying....is I don't understand why so many people who don't believe in something can get so upset about something that by their own belief structure does not exist.....just seems stupid to me.....anyway moving on......Peace, Love, Prosperity to all.....and may God keep you and your family safe, even if you don't believe in him or her.j

Ohh and this has already been up to the Supreme Court in 1970 they refused to hear .ruling that the motto has a "patriotic or ceremonial character" and "has no theological or ritualistic impact."

So can we move on to something more important....like I don't know....a budget....

I think it's great. America has always been a God fearing nation. The statement by itself is a general statement that acknowledges God and doesn't single out one specific faith. Any American should be fine with it, and I personaly welcome it. Thanks for the question MSgt Ellis
